A. The mini cooper has a wider range of shades that would require it to be a blue or red hue. I have also never seen a green or gold base colored mini cooper. I am not going with red because it would compete with the woman in the shot (her dress being red). That only leaves option A, blue.
If this film has a tight color concept, as you say, nothing distracting should come between the two characters (a cool navy-blue man and a fiery red woman). Just like the car next to the man is neutral and blends in with the street, the mini cooper should have a non-intrusive color.
That eliminates A and C. B seems too light, and would give a lighter shade of grey when desaturated. So my guess is D.

tough call...I think I'll say d, it's the least distracting of the woman and fits the blandness of the rest of the scene, haha.
