December 3rd [Updated]

The correct answer to the first picture was C (dark blue). I have included the original picture in the corresponding post. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write anything more about these blue trees at the moment, maybe towards the weekend... Sunny Kharbanda has a good explanation for his guessing in the comments, by the way.

The correct answer to the second picture hasn't been given yet. Just for fun, I'm putting together a list of participants in order to see who got the most answers right

Let's have a look at this keystone press photo of an auditorium full of protesting students in Zürich:

The wall color is rather unusual, what color are the desks then?

A                       B                       C                       D

Going with your instincts wasn't such a bad idea after all: it was A.

The pink background seems to be intentionally chosen which would build an argument for green (A) desks as green and red are complimentary colors. Yet, that would be to overpowering to the overall image and I cant imagine colorful desks. They wouldn't be practical. As a result my guess is the neutral tan, B.

I can't believe I've only just understood the fact that you have desaturated the colour! D'oh!

Well I'd guess B this time. Looks about right for these kinds of desk.

I'm new to this but I'm going to go with my first instinct and say "A"
