The color of snow [Updated]

This year I try to do a kind of Advent calender here. More or less every day I post an image (animation, live-action, newspaper) with one area completely desaturated. If you think you know the correct color, write a comment with the letter corresponding to the color swatch. Of course you could always guess, it’s multiple choice after all. I will withhold comments for at least 24 hours, so that you don’t see what other people have guessed.
If I get three answers I will continue, else I will stop posting those images.

December 1st
In celebration of the first snow we had around here yesterday, let’s start with an easy one from Peter and the Wolf (Make Mine Music, 1946):

Well, it’s not the color of snow I’m looking for but the color of the branch. Is it A, B, C or D?

A                     B                    C                    D

Update: The answer is C. See for yourself:

it's more grey than blue. Perhaps D with a bit of warm red added?

It's a D, surely!

i'm going to go with C, though theres a chance the answer is a..I'm thinking the time period they would be braver with color than a dull brown.

"A" as in A+

B, cause the color matches the tree house.

I haven't seen the movie, so this is just a guess: Either B or C.

Reasoning: A & D are too light, and wouldn't lend the lower part of the frame enough weight. Also A is too close to the color of the birdhouse, and D is too close to the color of the snow. They wouldn't give enough contrast.
