For me it started with The Lion King'...Hi Joshua<br />For me it started with The Lion King's "can you feel the love tonight" sequence that I couldn't stand even as a teenager. Then came Pocahontas and I thought all was lost. However uncomfortable these fully saturated clashing colors made me, I have to admit that detached from the film they had a strange appeal. Somehow in Aladdin the bright primary colors didn't really bother me (in 35mm that was, VHS made them look really ugly), although I must admit that its color scheme seemed too literal to me.<br /><br />I could fill this blog just showcasing my favorite movies over and over again. But the film scholar in me is more interested in seeing things in perspective which occasionally means looking for interesting things in works I myself don't like that much. Pocahontas had lots of extreme red/blue scenes and Aladdin used lots of garish purple/yellow contrasts.<br />But I'm glad you're still taking the time to analyse shorts like this instead of writing them off wholesale.
