The protagonists exist in a type of limbo between civilization and the wild, and the further they are removed from society, the looser ethical constraints become. Far away from the law, men practically become animals.<br /><br />Likewise, a central conflict in Mr. Fox is his inability to reconcile outside demands of civility and responsibility with his basic nature.
